Pronoms réfléchi en anglais

Reflexive pronouns are used when the subject and object of a clause or sentence are the same noun (person, place, thing, or idea).

The reflexive pronouns are myself, yourself, herself, himself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, and themselves.
  • The temple priests work by themselves to pray for a good harvest.
  • I am not a baby so I bathe myself.

Relative pronouns are normally used to show or emphasize that something was done without aid or assistance.

  • I drove myself to work.

In the above sentence, the speaker is telling us that he or she had no help in driving to work.

  • She wrote the book by herself.

In the above sentence, we are told that she wrote the book without any help.
